Melodic, organic, funky, deep, afro & tech house
NYMAU
NYMAU creates house with a melodic core: groovy club tracks, organic drums and a occasional radio-friendly cut with more hook and emotion. Towards the end of 2026, the journey expands into techno.

Spotify playlists
Two personal selections that show where the sound is coming from: house grooves on one side,
darker techno energy on the other.
Many people find Techno monotonous. But the art of Techno is to create more music with less. So no big melodic chords or vocals, but by creating grooves/rhythms with subtle percussion/foil sounds, it varies from hypnotic and deep to hard and industrial.
Just House 2026
A curated house selection from NYMAU: warm grooves, melodic movement and tracks that sit close to the sound.
Just Techno 2026
A darker playlist for techno energy, late-night ideas and heavier club inspiration.
Bio
Back to music, with a fresh club-focused sound.
Behind NYMAU is Maurice de Kunder, a producer from Nijmegen (The Netherlands) who first started making music in the early 2000s using Fruity Loops for a short period, before returning to music production 25 years later in 2025. The sound moves between melodic, organic, funky, deep, afro, and tech house, with occasional influences from techno and more radio-friendly tracks.
In 2025, music theory began — primarily through YouTube. At that time, he had no knowledge of chords, notes, or music theory in general. The main experience was limited to programming basic kick and hi-hat/snare patterns at 126 BPM in FL Studio. That's why the first tracks became strongly melody-driven and relatively radio-friendly, serving as a way to experiment with chords, melodies, and overall song structure.
In 2026, the focus will shifting toward exploring deeper production techniques and creating more refined house and techno tracks inspired by professional productions. The development of a truly distinctive sound is seen as a long-term process that will continue to evolve over the coming years.
Anyway, don't forget, whatever you do, the journey is often more meaningful than the destination itself.
